Waterfront Metropolis

Chicago river
Flowing through downtown Chicago, the river that bears the name of the city has an interesting history. Once a corridor of commercial activity, the river has been transformed into a recreational area with sightseeing boats and kayaks. Along the banks are pedestrian friendly promenades lined with café's and eateries.

City of Neighborhoods
With its 77 neighborhoods, Chicago retains the essence of its orginal ethnic areas like Little Italy, Chinatown, Greektown and Ukrainian Village.

Navy Pier
Navy Pier is a large pier on Lake michigan near Streeterville, close to Chicago's downtown. Originally known as the Municipal Pier nr 2, it is one of two piers called for in Daniel Burnham's 1909 Chicago plan. The other pier was never built. It is home to many attractions, some may vary depending on the season.

Prairie Avenue Historic District
Often dubbed Chicago's "original Gold Coast," the area known as the Prairie Avenue Historic District was once "the" place to live in Chicago. Having an address here meant that you were one of the most esteemed citizens of this marvelous city.During the last three decades of the 19th century, this area was home to some of Chicago's most wealthy citizens - more than 75 millionaires to be exact - and many wonderful sites still remain in the Prairie AvenuePrairie Avenue District today.
